Calendar events not displayed in specified category colours

I'm using 2.3.0.0., on a Win 10 computer, most recentl version of Windows.

When I specify different categories for calendar events they are all displayed in the same colour (white), rather than in the colour of the specified category. (See attached screenshot - the "why" event should appear in red, as the category is Personal).

Please help - thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the feedback.

    The display of events doesn't use the Category for its background. The background (and text) colour and style is modified from the toolbar above the Subject field in the Event Edit Window.

    This is by design to allow user's to customise each and every event.

    I can see that users, like yourself, simply want to show a distinction between events using the Type and Category settings. Therefore, I propose I add a new setting into doogiePIM, like so;

    Each single event's Subject will override this if customised using the style icons.
    1. "Use colour of Category for all event backgrounds"
    2. "Use colour of Type for all event backgrounds"
    3. "Use Theme Colour (default) unless customised"
