Crash when replying to certain emails

Reported by John Thackway | September 13th, 2018 @ 11:12 AM | in 2.1.0.5

When replying to emails with attachments, even though I have ticked the "Always remove attachments before a reply," doogiePIM crashes. It happens every time. Attached is the error report. Many thanks for your help

    Many thanks for the report.

It looks like the crash happens when the reply is done and sent, then doogiePIM attempts to go to show a preview of the message in the main section. I will take a look at this and see what the problem is.

It would help me a great deal if you could send a sample email that was crashing as long as the message doesn't contain any personal information.
    Send any samples to chris@bitespire.com

Thanks for the extra information and sample. It appears there's a decoding issue with some attachments. I'll work further on it and attempt to rectify/improve the situation for the next update (coming quite soon).

Reopened as this issue still exists for version 2.0.1.92.

Still experiencing this problem when replying to an email. I tried a few times with original email content, then tried again to reply....then deleting content (thinking that was the problem) and typing a few words. Still crashed.

Also have noticed that when I try to retrieve from outbox to re-send, the to: and from: fields are blank and grayed out. Same thing when I moved from Outbox to Drafts and retried....no way to re-enter email addresses.

Attaching log files. First one original and the second one is after I stripped content out of email and retried...

This report, you sent, is a different type of "crash". Something unexpected happened when it was trying to save the message to the database. This could happen if the storage disk was removed or was used by some other process.

Are you trying to send out very large file attachments? If so, what is the size of the file in the message body?

If you double-click an Outbox message, it will load it up as a Reply and you can edit the fields and the message body. If you "Open" the message, this is only in view mode. You can't move a message out of the Outbox as it's a special folder only acting as a temp area before sending out. If you want to send the message in the Outbox, select the message then use the menu command "Messages/Send Select Mail".

Okay. Thanks...I was able to get the outbox messages to send using the menu command. But, I still get the crash message when I reply to a message and try to send.

You mentioned "storage disk". I have two drives on my desktop...I store my database and work files on the D: drive. I wonder if that is contributing to problem?
