Task Pop-up Reminder Issue
Reported by Metta Zetty | May 19th, 2018 @ 12:41 PM | in 2.0.1.5
For some time now I've been running into a recurring problem with the pop-up reminder window for my tasks:
-- This window frequently pops up while I am in the middle of writing in another application.
-- Unfortunately, before I even have a chance to see what the reminder is, I inadvertently hit a key stroke that closes the window.
Part of the challenge here might be that the default setting is to dismiss the window -- or I'm typing a keystroke pattern that produces the same result.
In any case, because the reminders are popping up and then disappearing again so quickly, I can't ever figure out what the reminder was or where it went -- so if there's anything that can be done that will prevent this from happening in the future, it would be a really big help!
With my thanks in advance,
Metta

I assume you must be hiting the Escape key or one of the keyboard shortcuts such as Alt+C. As you mentioned, the dialog would then vanish. I couldadd an option in the settings to ignore keyboard entry but it means you would have to look at the display to know the alert is on the screen and you would have to use your mouse to close it.
Let me know if this is an acceptable option.

FWIW, I rarely use the escape key or any short-cuts, so I'm not sure how that could be the trigger.
Re: the option to ignore keyboard entry....
FWIW, I'm always looking at the screen when I type, so I don't think I'd miss the reminder -- but it would help to know what would be visible on screen at the time the reminder pops up:
-- Would the alert be visible on screen and on TOP of the app I was currently using?
-- Or would the alert be BEHIND the app in which I was working?
-- In either case, would the reminder flash on the task bar when it pops up?
Just wondering how I would recognize the reminder if I had to look at the display to know the alert is on screen.
(I also would not mind at all if I had to use the mouse the close the reminder.)
Will be looking forward to your feedback about what I should expect to see with this alternative setting.

The alert dialog appears on top of the Windows application so it can be seen and it flashes on the Taskbar.

Sounds great, Chris! Thanks for taking time to work out an alternative solution.
I'll be looking forward to your update.
