strange paste-behaviour

Reported by Joerg | March 11th, 2018 @ 04:29 PM | in 2.0.1.1

Hi Chris,

sometimes doogiePIm behaves strangely when pasting text. The text in screenshot 1 is in Calibri 12. You can see the cursor before the word "Rawls" in the the first line of the non-bold paragraph. When I paste the words "In these two chapters from A Theory of Justice" before the word "Rawls" the lines below are suddenly in Arial 10, as you can see in screenshot 2.

Yours sincerely
Joerg

I believe this is caused by the default action of Paste will take any formatting from the Copied source. If you select text from an RTF source and Paste straight into doogiePIM, then any font format would also be applied. There is an option, "Paste As..." (Context menu or Main Menu) so you can choose just the text and ignore the source format.

Try using Paste As and let me know the outcome. Until I hear from you, I'll keep this ticket on Hold.

    That can't be the cause.

I copied a dash (screenshot 3) and pasted it a line above in the same paragraph (screenshot 4, after "Kant (1724" and the following text changed into Arial 10 - no matter whether I paste it as text or rich text.

Even if I only format a word in italics, the text before and after the word in italics changes into Arial 10 as you can see in screenshot 5 (only the word "British" remained in Calibri 12).

Many thanks for the extra information and evidence. I'll make further tests and see if I can find the cause.

It would help a great deal if you could tell me which software you used to copy from, eg: MS Word, Chrome, doogiePIM, ...

    Chris.

The documents were imported from rtf-files. But then all the copy-and-paste-operations were done within doogiePIM.
