Q re Missing 1/2 Page view of Details
Reported by Metta Zetty | March 21st, 2018 @ 11:53 PM | in 2.0.1.5
Don't know if this is a bug or user error, but I've lost the ability to display the 1/2-page details pane on my task list.
When I click the toggle button for the details pane, it now
switches between the FULL task list and the FULL details pane. (No
half page display with task list + details is available.)
-- When the FULL details pane is displayed, I no longer have a
minimize button. Instead, the "Toggle Details in Full" opens and
closes the Navigator panel, instead of the task list.
When I click the toggle button for the Navigator and Details Panels together, it alternately opens and hides the Navigator -- with Details FULL each time. (No 1/2-page Details available.)
If you need me to record a video to display this issue, please let me know.
In the meantime, I'll close the program now to see if it "resets" itself.

Just now recorded a video for you, Chris, and you'll see that several things have changed since I initially reported this issue with the 1/2-page view (preview) of the Details panel:
Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you need me to illustrate anything else, once you've reviewed this video.
I will again be looking forward to your feedback.

The ticket was automatically marked as spam. However, I've reset it to "Not Spam" so future video links should go through.
I've seen the video and I must say I'm really impressed at the amount of help you're giving me in terms of observations and evidence.
The issue with the Details Panel is; there is a horizontal splitter bar that lays between the listing and the preview area. Much the same way as the vertical splitter bar, this can be manually sized. However, due to the smaller vertical resolution of your screen there's some bad maths in there which made the preview panel taller than should be allowed.
There are two ways to rectify this.
1. Quick fix it. This can be done by going into the raw settings file. This method is quick but won't stop it happening again.
2. Hide the Preview Panel and just work with the listing until the fixed version is uploaded. I'm planning to upload a beta next week.Should you wish to take the prize behind curtain number 1, the details are as follows;
- Shutdown doogiePIM completely.
- Using the Windows Files Explorer, nagigate to the following
folder: C:\BiteSpire\doogiePIM2\Data Files\
- Locate the file named "SettingsAndPreferences.ini"
- Right-click on this file and choose "Edit" from the
menu.
- Hit Ctrl+F and find the text "PanelTasksDet.height"
- Once you've found the parameter, change the value after the
equals sign to something like "PanelTasksDet.height=100"
- There should be a line below it that reads
"SplitterTasksDet.shrunken". Change this to
"SplitterTasksDet.shrunken=0"
- Save the file.
- Start doogiePIM.
- You should find the Task Details Panel will be in view with a pixel height of 100. Adjust the horizontal splitter bar to the desired visual size.
As I mentioned, I will get this fixed but hope the above is a quick fix that helps. If you need further guidance, I'm happy to assist.
Chris
- Shutdown doogiePIM completely.

Status: To be fixed in 2.0.1.3
Addendum:
I have also discovered that if you maximise the Task Preview Panel, ie: click on the far right footer icon. Then when you restart the Tasks section that causes the increased height and doesn't resolve itself to a smaller vertical size. Therefore, until you get the fixed version, ensure the Task Details Panel is displaying at the half size when you leave the Task section or shutdown. -

Absolutely marvelous!
Thanks so very much, Chris, for your responsiveness and help on this issue. I am relieved to know a fix will be forthcoming, and I'm so impressed you took the time to provide such helpful tips for a setting up a manual work-around (#1) and preventing interim problems with Task Preview panel (Addendum).
Thank you again for all you are doing to make doogiePIM an optimal task/data management tool.
Oh....Glad if the video was helpful! ;-)

Also, just wondering if you have a theory about why my folder labels disappeared in the task list?
-
BiteSpire March 23rd, 2018 @ 08:23 PM
The Folder Label is a small glitch due to the display changes in the listing. That is already fixed and you should find it in the new update version 2.0.1.3

Just now installed the current version of DPIM (2.0.1.5), and neither of the following 2 options are working in my updated database:
-- Toggle Details Panel
-- Toggle Navigator & Details Panel
Please advise.

- State changed from resolved to open
- Milestone changed from 2.0.1.2 to 2.0.1.5
Status: Back to Open. Not resolved (user)
All I can suggest is to make an mp4 movie showing the situation. You can send the link to my email.
I tested these options in 2.0.1.4 and just now in version 2.0.1.5.
Something is obviously amiss that I'm overlooking or not taking into account. Your further help would be most appreciated.Chris

Just now emailed you the link to the video I created.
In this recording, I've actually documented 2 different bugs:
-- Details panel not displaying properly and
-- Task count on the folder labels not matching the actual task count within each folder.
Hope this helps!
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
With my thanks in advance for your help with this troubleshooting,
